Our Pastor
Pastor Michael Anthony Foster, affectionately known as “Pastor Mike”, is a native of Sacramento, California. Born on February 10, 1969, to Bishop David C. Foster, Sr. and First Lady Ethel M. Foster, Pastor Mike grew up with a strong spiritual foundation alongside his siblings David C. Foster Jr. (Shawana), Marie Young (Cedric), and Audrey Lofton (Andre).
Early Life & Education
Pastor Mike graduated from Grant High School in 1987, where he excelled in both academics and athletics. A proud “Pacer,” he won numerous medals and trophies in basketball and track.
Raised in Christ Temple Apostolic Church, under the leadership of Dist. Elder Robert B. Holman, Sr. and First Lady Barbara Holman, Pastor Mike surrendered his life to Christ and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost on January 8, 1979, at just ten years old.
Ministry Journey
In 1981, his parents founded Greater Grace Church (formerly Greater Grace Worship Center). Over the years, Pastor Mike faithfully served in many leadership roles, including Lead Financial Officer, Ministerial Alliance, Music Ministry, Sunday School, Media Ministry, and Youth Ministry.
In 1988, Bishop Foster appointed him Minister of Music, where he orchestrated and directed choirs while playing drums, keyboard, and his favorite—the bass guitar.
Family
On October 12, 1992, Pastor Mike married the late Lady Mary Foster. Together, they raised five children—Brandon Harris, Michelle Foster, Michael Foster, Jazmyne Dockery, and Jada Foster—and welcomed a son-in-love, Troy Dockery Jr. He is a proud grandfather (“Grampy”) to six grandchildren: Cameron Hall, Skylar Hall, Brandon Harris Jr., Demetrius Harris, Brooklyn Dockery, and Milaan Tidwell.
After 30 years of marriage, Lady Mary went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2023. In God’s divine timing, Pastor Mike was blessed again on February 3, 2024, to marry Lady Rachel Foster, whose warm presence and passion for souls have quickly endeared her to the congregation.
Pastoral Leadership
Pastor Mike received his minister’s license on March 26, 2017, and was ordained an Elder and installed as Youth Pastor on May 7, 2017. In this role, he preached, taught Bible studies, and led Youth Takeover Sundays, Teen Rap Sessions, and Children’s Church.
On December 17, 2020, he was installed as Assistant Pastor of Greater Grace Church. Later, on September 10, 2023, with the love and support of his family and congregation, he was officially installed as Pastor of Greater Grace Church.
Legacy & Vision
Pastor Mike is widely known as “The People Preacher.” His genuine love for people, steadfast faith, and humility have made a lasting impact on the church and community. Carrying forward his father’s legacy of “reaching, teaching, and discipling souls,” Pastor Mike introduced the new church theme:
“Love, Live, and Lead like JESUS.”
Grounded in fasting, prayer, teaching, and preaching, Pastor Mike continues to exemplify biblical principles, serving faithfully with compassion, sincerity, and excellence.
